Purchasing Coordinator

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our Ontario Purchasing Team as a Purchasing Coordinator. The successful candidate would be responsible for reviewing Purchase Orders (PO), and working closely with the branches to gather and submit orders for the region.  This position will allow the Ontario Region to move toward being in line with Convoy’s commitment to maintain accurate and reasonable levels of inventory by following our best practices procedures. 



  • Analyze each Purchase Order (PO) or transfer from the region and ensure it is following our best practices with regards to inventory management
  • Support branches with quotations for special order material
  • Forecast product needs for the region, winter buys, product bookings, new product lines
  • Review all open POs weekly and scrutinize any outstanding POs
  • Along with the Purchasing Manager and Branch Manager(s), review and identify dead stock and alleviate stocking issues
  • Maintain complete updated purchasing data in the system.
  • Analyze and resolve purchasing/costing issues and discrepancies
  • Develop and maintain an open dialogue with your fellow co-workers. Support them and build an open communication style with everyone you work alongside.  This will allow you to address any issues and enable you to receive buy-in, and allow you to confidently ask for assistance when you require it
  • Perform all required tasks with 100% compliance

  • Three years experience working in a construction or building materials environment would be      an asset
